ShareGrid is a Community for sharing computational resources, relationships and projects
- ShareGrid is a peer-to-peer desktop grid matching the computing needs of small research laboratories (8 labs roughly amounting to 300 machines)
- ShareGrid is based on the OurGrid middleware and the cooperation is implicitly achieved as soon as you install the related middleware

ShareGrid focuses on Bag-of-Tasks (BoT) applications without any communication among running tasks, but with facilitated scheduling and security enforcement, simple fail-over/retry mechanisms to tolerate faults and no need of QoS guarantees
- In ShareGrid the cooperation is implicitly achieved as soon as you install the OurGrid middleware Software (join the Community without hard paperwork)
- ShareGrid enables large scale experiments without additional costs (eg buying new equipment tailored to a specific project and used only for a limited amount of time)
- ShareGrid provides solutions tested in a best effort environment but easily applicable to a quality of service controlled environment (same middleware)
- ShareGrid is a Project funded by Regione Piemonte through TOPIX (TOrino Piemonte Internet eXchange), and in close co-operation with the Computer Science Department of Turin and Alessandria Universities
