Introduction
The purpose of this guide is to make it easy for you, as a ShareGrid user, to get the most out of the resources and advantages offered by grid computing, by submitting your jobs via a Web interface.
Be aware, the Web interface is still beta. There could be bugs or instability problems. If you’re facing with one of them, please let us know through our bug reporting tool .
Requirements
- Internet connection
- a last-generation Internet browser with support for Cookies and Javascript enabled
The Web portal has been written with W3C standards (CSS, HTML, …) in mind. Anyway, it is well known that some Internet browsers may behave differently. The Web portal is sured to work with the Mozilla Firefox browser (version 2 or greater).
Before to start
In order to submit your jobs from the Web interface you have to register to the ShareGrid Web Portal site, by clicking the link named Register. Once you have filled out the registration form, the ShareGrid software infrastructure will send you a confirmation email containing the link allowing you to activate the new account.
After the registration/activation process you can return to the ShareGrid Web Portal site and sign in through the User Login form. Now you are ready to submit your jobs.
Submitting your jobs
Once you have completed the registration/activation process, you are allowed to submit your job through the Web interface.
To do so, you have to sign in to the ShareGrid Web Portal site, select the Grid Job Menu, from the menu to the left-side of the page, and finally click to the Job Submission link: it will be open a new page where you can insert details about your jobs.
